This guide walks you through importing a bookmarks HTML file into Google Chrome. Whether you exported bookmarks from Bookmark Forge or another source, Chrome makes it easy to import them into your bookmark manager.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open Chrome and click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner
- Go to Bookmarks and Lists → Import Bookmarks and Settings
- In the dropdown, select Bookmarks HTML File
- Click Choose File
- Navigate to your downloaded bookmarks.html file and select it
- Your bookmarks will appear in the Imported folder in the bookmarks bar
Tips
- Show the bookmarks bar: Ctrl+Shift+B (Windows/Linux) or ⌘+Shift+B (Mac)
- You can drag bookmarks from the "Imported" folder to organize them
- Chrome also supports importing from other browsers directly via the same menu
