How to Import Bookmarks in Safari

Safari makes it easy to import bookmarks from an HTML file. Follow these steps to import your Bookmark Forge file into Safari on Mac.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Open Safari on your Mac
In the menu bar, go to File → Import Browsing Data from File or Folder...
A dialog will appear — click Choose File or Folder...
Navigate to your downloaded bookmarks.html file and select it
Your bookmarks will appear in a new Imported folder in the sidebar

Show the bookmarks sidebar: ⌘+Control+1 or View → Show Sidebar
You can drag imported bookmarks into your Favorites for quick access
Safari on iOS/iPadOS doesn’t support direct HTML bookmark import — sync via iCloud from your Mac instead
